Why
Art Form Architecture
is
The Best!
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help you with the design
of your home or business. We will be your ally and advocate throughout
the design and construction experience.
Owner Empowerment
We believe strongly in Owner Empowerment – and put that belief
into action from the very beginning. We typically start the design process
with a truly unique program called the “
House
Call”. It’s
a four hour design session at your home with your full participation.
By doing the first stage with you, we make sure the design best fits
your needs and expresses your personality. Not only do you get the maximum
design input possible, but it’s extremely cost efficient and a
boat load of fun.
Our Creativity, Your Dreams
Throughout the Design Process, we will contribute all our creativity
and experience, and bring ideas to the table that you may never have
thought of. But, at the end of the day, you’ll be the ones choosing
what stays and what goes. It’s your home, not ours. You’re
the ones that are going to go home and live in it, for many years after
we’ve completed our work.
Your Budget Matters to Us
We believe that good design is independent of style. Whether traditional
or modern, humble or ambitious, the design we do for you will be well
proportioned, well detailed and sensitive to its surroundings. So, no
matter what your taste or budget, we’ll give you the best design
possible.
We also pay attention to the cost of design. Once we’ve completed
the House Call, which establishes the design direction, we can usually
provide you with a fixed cost for the remaining design and drawings.
That means you can relax and enjoy the process, without worrying about
the bill being bigger than you expect.
Experience and Training
Right from the first design session, you will have Wendy
Welton, a licensed
Architect, on your side. A licensed Architect has in-depth training in
structural design, energy efficiency, and moisture control just for starters – add
to this history, lighting design, ergonomics, life safety, the legal
aspects of construction, and a great many other topics that will affect
your project. A rigorous process of internship, exams and references
rounds out the licensing process that separates the Architects from the
Designers.
If you’re looking at plans on the Internet, please read the disclaimer
before you buy. They often don’t meet current code in critical
ways – New England snow loads and current (larger) stair size requirements,
and don’t believe the construction estimates for even a minute.
If you already bought one and need help – yes, we do that too.
Our commitment is to help real people with their home design and construction,
whether we get a pretty picture for the web site out of it or not!
Stock Home Plans
New News! Rather than just provide the "rescue" for people who've purchased plans on the internet, we are now offering many of our own designs - but we're doing it right. You can purchase plans from us that truly are Ready to Build. Artform Home Plans is our new sister web site. The initial list of plans is just the tip of the iceberg. If you don't see what you want, drop us a note.
Commitment
Construction can be stressful and confusing, even for those who’ve
undertaken projects in the past. Mistakes can be costly. We can guide
you through all stages, from determining an appropriate budget, to figuring
out what type of design you will continue to love for years, not just
today. We offer services to help you select a Builder, to monitor construction
quality, and to help you avoid financial problems. In some cases we can
recommend a Builder who’s already completed one of our projects
with good results.
In addition to tailoring the design specifically for you, we will tailor
our Services to your needs as well. We are committed to providing the
services you need and request, nothing more, nothing less.
Thanks again,

Wendy Welton, Registered Architect
